The parable of the new earthmover, the old bungalow and the magistrate

There was once an old bungalow built by a farmer down memory lane. One day a new earthmover was driven past the old bungalow. The vibration from the earthmover gave the bungalow a Humpty Dumpty-like fall. The driver of the earthmover refused to accept blame for what happened to the bungalow because he claimed he did not hit the old bungalow with his machine while driving past.

When lawyers from both sides took the matter before the magistrate, he listened to their separate arguments as they tried to persuade him to give judgment in their favour. But instead of doing anything of the sort, he shocked everyone present. “Get out,” he thundered at them. And they fled the courthouse.
