The characters on the photo to the left are the same as the characters on the photo to the right. The former photo was called Pepper-Dem while the latter photo was called No more. My neighbour performed the ‘naming ceremonies.’ When I asked him why he called the pepper, which he grew on his balcony such queer names, he said it helped to remind him about the deeper issues of life.

At one stage in life, the leaves one wears are green, lush and impressive. Complimented by fruits green, red, ripe and dear. But then another stage sets in after that; one that is dry, drab, drear and completely unimpressive. How do you begin to say that what’s right used to be left?
