The herbal medicine cleared by Thailand for Covid-19 treatment grows in Nigeria

The ongoing politics surrounding the various covid-19 vaccines around the globe continue to strengthen the case for alternative solutions, especially those based on credible herbal treatment. So, it was a refreshing development when the ministry of health in Thailand announced recently that it had cleared the use of Andrographis paniculata, a very bitter plant, (which, happily, grows in Nigeria) as alternative treatment for Covid-19. Studies by the ministry revealed that extracts from the plant can curb the virus and help those infected to regain their health in no time.

Interestingly, many of the ‘Bitters’ sold in Nigeria contain extracts of Andrographis paniculata.
