We must not blame Thomas Friedman that he forgot some of the things Mother Nature told him recently. It is human nature. Rather we must commend his decision to seek out the moment, and his report of the encounter.
After he asked Mother Nature her strategies for producing resilience and propulsion when the climate changes, she gave him a list of strategies we can easily relate with.
Here is the second item on her list: “I’m incredibly entrepreneurial. Whenever I see a blank spot in nature, I fill it with a plant or animal perfectly adapted to that niche.”
Unfortunately, Friedman only remembered to mention plant or animal. For if we may ask, what has Mother Nature been using to extend the Sahara Desert into more blank spots? Plants or animals? Of course not. More sand and heat!
