He is lonely. He is beginning to feel empty. He is Japanese. He is 44years old. He is a billionaire. His name is Yusaku Maezawa. He is the first paying passenger on Elon Musk SpaceX’s maiden tourist voyage to the moon in 2023.
Yesterday, he tweeted a link to a website where ladies could apply to be his companion during the one-week flight in space. Here is what he said: “I’m 44 now. As feelings of loneliness and emptiness slowly begin to surge upon me, there’s one thing that I think about: continuing to love one woman.”
No sooner had I seen the report than my mind went to my neighbour’s discourse with me yesterday evening. He had come for his usual banter. He said his bible teacher in church yesterday taught them from the book of Ruth. How a certain rich and wealthy eligible bachelor, named Boaz fell in love with a complete stranger, leaving all the many maidens that worked for him, some of whom probably wished he would look in their direction and consider them for marriage. They all knew he was a single man but he didn’t look in their direction. They were simply his workers and no more. Until Ruth showed up.
Why would billionaire Maezawa leave all the many pretty Japanese ladies and set his eyes on a Nigerian beauty? Point of correction: he did not specifically state that he wanted a Nigerian beauty as companion but we have former Miss World, and Nigerian ladies are famed for their beauty. Where is Tubaba? Mr Maezawa must hear that famous song today.
For all those who have been praying for this kind of moment (yeah, I know it is kind of different from the Ruth situation) the time to send out the application is now as the deadline is this Friday, 17th January 2020.
Mr Maezawa will start to review the applications by end of this January. I know what some readers are asking, what is the name of the website? They have to look for it. What’s Google doing in their phones?
