There were reports recently that some critics were not happy (Is there ever a time in this world when everybody is happy with what everybody is doing or not doing?) that Wonder Woman, WW84 superstar actress and former beauty queen, Gal Gadot will be playing Cleopatra the legendary Queen of Egypt in a new movie.
The critics wished an actress of Arab or African descent should have been given the role instead of Gal Gadot. Unfortunately for the critics the producers have made their choice. And a good one at that. But for the purpose of giving those critics a hearing and considering more deeply their argument with regards to some successful actress of African descent, anyone from Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Ekeinde, Lupita Nyongo, Charlize Theron and others, etc will certainly introduce an interesting interpretation of the character of the famed Queen.
Would fans of these stars kindly indicate why their stars should be Cleopatra instead of Gal Gadot so that the matter may be considered by producers who share similar sentiments and are willing to ‘do something about it.’
