  1. The Poor Collective

The Poor Collective of Lagos are the biggest consumers of everything sold in Lagos. They are the goose that lay the golden eggs of Lagos. They are the midwives of the stars of Lagos to the extent that virtually all the stars of Lagos today came out of their bowels. Of course, the stars have found a smart way to severe the umbilical cords to the Poor Collective while crafting a narrative that suggest that neither them or their forbears had any association to the group.

One easy way to understand the power and potential of the Poor Collective is to identify all the persons of influence in the state today and look to their cradle; their upbringing; their parents and grandparents. How many of their grandparents had anything close to the influence which they currently wield across the state? Who can say authoritatively that another group from the Poor Collective, will not be the stars dominating the firmament of Lagos tomorrow?

For 2021, the Poor Collective might want to add more self-assurance and confidence to their plate. As well as more tangible demonstrations of their famed faith, for if the proof of faith be corresponding actions then there is need to increase the level of works in this massively vital unit.

  1. Naira Marley

Naira Marley’s power derives from his success in creating a new tribe with unique language, music, attitude and predisposition. He has the definite song of Lagos, which is not necessarily a specific song but a tune, beat and a bounce; a style and an attitude. Many songs of Lagos have been written and produced over time but what is the current song of Lagos? What is the current anthem of Lagos? The answer is not a specific song but a mood, a predisposition and philosophy.

He has almost created a whole culture within the larger culture. Those familiar with the genius of Nebuchadnezzar, the iconic king of Babylon remember that his strategy for consolidating his hold over his subjects, especially the smartest strangers in his kingdom, was to teach them the language of the Chaldeans. Those strangers were the brightest young people who he took through a system of cultural transformation. Speaking of cultural transformation, Marlians are easily noticed by their peculiar manners – their language, songs, attitude, dressing/appearance, etc.

For 2021, Naira Marley might want to increase his knowledge of the anatomy of mob anger and its efficient management; as well as patriotism within the tribe and patriotism transfer to the other tribes in the state

  1. Senator Bola Tinubu

The Asiwaju of Lagos is a power veteran. With considerable experience of the varying levels of force carried by the bolts, hinges, screws and nuts; not forgetting the difference lubrication makes.

As a veteran familiar with the constant called wear and tear, for 2021, Asiwaju might want to look more closely at the current condition of the bolts, hinges, nuts and screws and the quality of lubrication required by each. Also, he might want to increase his knowledge of the anatomy of mob anger and its efficient management.

  1. The Chris Oyakhilome/Sam Adeyemi/Tony Rapu/Poju Oyemade Collective

The individuals that make up this unit have a double-barreled duty of prayers and preaching of the word. No one can deny the force of their influence. They are big on innovation and constructive engagement with their various targets. What if their world-class centres (when not in use for worship) became Lagos Centres for excellence in Vocational Education, Leadership/Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence and Agriculture where hundreds of thousands of young people may acquire diplomas from a world-class faculty, they can assemble at the drop of a hat? The DNA of this revolutionary idea may be found in the DLA created by Rev Sam Adeyemi.

For 2021, The Chris Oyakhilome/Sam Adeyemi/Tony Rapu/Poju Oyemade Collective might want to consider how more practically how to revolutionize university education in Nigeria and drastically shrink the level of unemployment concurrently.

Governor Sanwo-Olu has legitimate power. And rallies his troops for maximum effect all around the state. As he reads this classification, he must smile at the fascinating way in which these individuals have assumed control over portions of the territory in which he is the bona fide and authentic authority. If by good hap, they consider his winsome disposition and mien that would be a shake of the hand for the wellbeing of all Lagosians.
